It was pretty much a perfect early Autumn day in Strathcona Park. We went the clockwise route to Battleship Lake then out to Lady Lake and Croteau Lake to the Lookout and returned via Lake Helen Mackenzie. It was a comfortable temperature with mixed sun and clouds and some early fog. We'll remember the mist over Battleship Lake, finding the Muskoka Chairs, snacking on blueberries and black huckleberries, damp cottongrass in the meadows, the views from the lookout with bits of Castlecrag poking through, passing on a swim, sandhill cranes, the bird banding man, and the beginning of Fall colours. It was 16 km in 6 hrs for the 11 of us.
Enclosed are some photos taken by Michele, Vic, and myself.
Let's go hiking,
