Probus Peddlers

4/28/2018

April 15, 2018   A second ride was organized to Air Force Beach as there was only a small group that went the week before.  The distance of this ride was approximately 22 km return.  Unfortunately, the Snow Birds weren’t flying but the group enjoyed the show put on by the CF18.   The supersonic CF-188 Hornet, popularly known as the CF-18 apparently can generate enough thrust to lift 24 full-size pick-up trucks off the ground. It’s loud, it’s fast, it’s amazing.

April 22, 2018   On a very nice afternoon a group of almost 30 cyclists completed one of my favourite rides.  I call it “Rivers and Rural Roads”.  Most of this 20km ride is very rural and pastoral.   From Lewis Park we cycled to Headquarters Road, to Rennison Road then back down to Headquarters Road on Vanier Drive. After crossing the new Dove Creek bridge we turned right on Dove Creek Rd and left on Condensory Rd and right on Piercey Rd.   From Piercy Rd we cycled to Greaves Cres past the Blue Moon Winery to Cessford Road and eventually back to Courtney over the Condensory Bridge. While we believe success is the journey (and it was a lovely journey), our destination at the Cornerstone Restaurant for coffee was a great way to end a very nice ride.
