Hiking Group: Wildflower time in Strathcona Park

After struggling to get up the road to Mount Washington on account of road work, the Probus hiking group met at the Hawk parking lot to take the “secret way” into the meadows.  As we went through the meadows we identified a reasonably large number of alpine flowers that were in bloom.  We then headed to Battleship Lake and on to Helen Mackenzie where a nice breeze was blowing.  We sat on the rocks and ate our lunch without having to swat one mosquito!  A lovely little meadow of Paint Brush, Columbine and Lilies was our last treat for the day.
