Hiking - Fuji Jim Ridge 20 March

3/23/2018

There was more sunshine than expected which made for pleasant hiking and reasonable views over the coast from the Fuji Jim ridge.  We headed out on Munday's Child which now has long stretches of restored boardwalk.  It has also been signed as a Children's Wilderness Park - not sure of the significance or whether it is an "official designation". We carried on up to the ridge for our break, then descended on Fuji Jim and over to Cottonwood where we paid our respects to the "Guardian" of the Eastern Block.  The Guardian is now a nicely weathered silver grey.  Then it was down to a new trail - Thursday's Child, which is not yet eroded and nice and soft, which took us back to our start point.  It was 6.8 km in 2 hrs 44 min for the dozen of us.
Following the hike most of us made our way to the CBC where we confirmed that the beer is still fine and the food tasty.
