The Probus Hiking Group did another hike in the Cumberland Community Forest. This time we met at Jumbo's cabin and worked our way up to Lily Pad Lake, where we had lunch. There was enough shade for all of us and we were thankful for that as it got hotter and dryer as we went.
On the way down we took the Sphagnum trail which provided some lovely views of Goose Spit, Tent island and Sandy Island. The tide was so far out that had we been there, we could have walked to them from Denman Island.
Next week is a hike in Snowdon Forest, weather permitting.
