Comox Lake and the Village People

Wow, we had a record nine paddlers out for our sixth trip of 2023! We launched from the Village of Cumberland Campground and paddled west alongside the steep rock faces for an hour. The weather was gorgeous: warm, light wind, big views and freshwater for a change. Spirits were high and witty repartee echoed off the cliffs. Our team spirit was so good, we even posed for our kayaker version of the Village People’s Y-M-C-A disco move! We didn’t practice this and the result amazed us all, even if the photo needed some explanation to understand what we were doing!

Total trip length was 8 km in 2 hours.
