Up the River with Paddles!

On a beautiful fall afternoon, four adventurous Probus Paddlers launched from the Courtenay Air Park and made their way up the Courtenay and Tsolum Rivers. Our mission? To witness the return of the spawning Pink salmon. We were not disappointed. The water was alive with salmon — and with the wildlife they attract: eagles, herons, mergansers, seals and yes, kayakers, too. It was a beautiful trip.
