Snowshoe Hikers - Magical Moonlight Meander

Tuesday evening’s moonlight snowshoe outing began at the Ramparts as the sunset painted the sky pink. Soon the land transformed into an ethereal wonderland - snow diamonds sparkling under an almost-full moon and broad views of a silver path across the Salish Sea, from the snowy Coastal Mountains to the Comox Valley lights far below.

​Combined with Glacier Probus, 29 snowshoers took part in the moonlit outing under clear skies. Still, with headlamps off until the very end and the only sound at times being the footfall of snowshoes, it was possible to experience the tranquility of winter in the mountains after nightfall.
