"Resort Tour" with the Hikers at Mt. Washington

A group of us met at Raven Lodge for a “resort tour” this Tuesday. No snowshoes were needed, but micro-spikes were an absolute necessity as the snow was icy and hard packed.  After travelling along West Passage, we ventured into the village to the lookout on Jutland that faces Strathcona Park, then back to the lookout by Snowball Lake that faces the ocean.  We did a loop around Snowball Lake and headed to Sky Island where we saw the snow castle, the “snowfa”, an igloo that is under construction and the amphitheatre. The sun came out as we were eating lunch and stayed out for the rest of the outing.
