"Let's Take a Walk!" to Five Parks

Comox is home to many charming small parks, and our “Let’s Take a Walk!” group enjoyed visiting five of them today: Brooklyn Park, Filberg Park, Baybrook Nature Park, Mack Laing Park, and Macdonald Wood Park. Thanks to our group leader, Sue, we learned several fascinating bits of history hidden within these parks — including an ancient First Nations midden, old homesteads, and an inspiring story of how, in the 1990s, a group of Comox residents successfully saved Macdonald Wood Park — a valuable stretch of waterfront forest — from development. Our walk was a refreshing blend of natural beauty, local history, and community spirit.
