Hike to Ripple Rock Lookout

This week, Tim volunteered to lead our group of 8 hikers along the Ripple Rock Lookout trail to the gorgeous viewpoint that overlooks Seymour Narrows and across to Maud and Quadra Islands. The tide was ebbing, flowing northwest through the narrows, and it was interesting to watch the many upwellings and current swirls, and the small motor boats as they navigated their way along with the fast-moving waters.

The 8 km trail proved to be a bit of a "stairmaster" with frequent ups and downs, but full of interest with its viewpoints along the way, impressive trees, and one small garter snake who seemed far more interested in baking in the sunshine than clearing the path for our group!

We wrapped up our successful day on the trail by raising a glass together at the Rip Tide in Campbell River.
