Beer Appreciation Group's Blind Taste Challenge

On the final Friday of February, the Beer Appreciation Group found itself challenged in a blind tasting event. The event was hosted by Judy V and Paul K  at their home in Royston.

What the group discovered was that, presented with unknown beer types, we began to question our own tastebuds during the sampling process. Tasting 'pairs' of beers (non-alcohol vs alcohol) surely had us guessing, but in most cases it seems that we preferred the alcoholic version. There were some exceptions to that trend, however. Guinness, for example, has done an excellent job with a zero alcohol beer, making it nearly indistinguishable from its more famous alcoholic variant. As usual, the group had a very good time together, and that's what it is all about.
