Beer Appreciation - "Beers From Around the World"

This month, amid the chilly temperatures of mid-winter, eighteen souls thirsty for companionship and beer met at the inviting home of Mary and Ted Hodkin. Our mission was to explore a few beer samples under the theme "Beers From Around the World". It was a noble quest, and a very dedicated group of tasters. There were beers from Denmark, East Germany, Poland, China, Scotland, and the Philippines.  Amid the patter of voices, each new beer sample was announced by the striking of an impressive gong tucked into the corner of the greatroom we occupied. It had been hand-built in Jakarta, Indonesia. 

​Beer tastings are best accompanied by finger-foods, and there were plenty of interesting options to sample as the evening progressed.
